UNAIDS and Moremi Initiative Extend Deadline for #Art2EndAIDS COMPETITION

Engaging Ghanaian Youth in the Fight Against Discrimination & HIV/AIDS

Moremi Initiative in partnership with UNAIDS, hereby announces the extension of the #Art2EndAIDS Competition deadline to June 14, 2017. This is in response to the high interest expressed by the youth to be given the chance to participate in the campaign against discrimination. Young women and men can still submit their art pieces and join the competition.

Under the theme “Engaging Young Men and Adolescents to end HIV/AIDS”, the ART Competition targets young people in Ghana aged 12 to 25. The #Art2EndAIDS Competition and Exposition is intended to engage young women and women, as well as adolescent girls and boys to apply their creative skills while increasing their awareness about and challenging their attitudes towards HIV/AIDS. We believe that young people can contribute significantly to ending the epidemic.

In line with this goal, the Art Competition and Exposition will address the challenges people living with HIV/AIDS face on their day to day activities, and take steps to alleviate some of these challenges. We intend to fight for the achievement of zero discrimination at all possible levels; be it social, professional or in the health care service area.  Participants are invited to do an original art piece: paintings, drawings or sculptures on the theme.
