RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY

Moremi Initiative has a research and advocacy program which aims at conducting empirical research to stimulate dialogue and advocate for actions that can lead to systemic policy changes.  Moremi Initiative researches on ways to support the improvement of women’s rights in Africa and sustainable ways to improve the participation of women in decision making. We utilize our network of outstanding emerging leaders to provide a loud voice on issues that affect women. Prominent professionals, alumni, and current fellows are invited to conduct research on African women’s leadership issues in order to develop a broad base of knowledge about African women’s leadership. The research and advocacy program considers different leadership styles and perspectives throughout Africa and tracks emerging socio-political challenges and opportunities facing African women aims at conducting empirical research to stimulate dialogue and advocate for actions that can lead to systemic policy changes.  We examine the impact of emerging socio-political issues around the world in relation to gender, and examine the current state of women’s rights in Africa. We also explore transformational leadership as a means to attain Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in Africa. Our Research shape our advocacy strategies, and are crucial fact finding points for our advocacy and action.
