RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY
Moremi Initiative has a research and advocacy program which aims at conducting empirical research to stimulate dialogue and advocate for actions that can lead to systemic policy changes. We conduct research on ways to support the improvement of women’s rights in Africa and sustainable ways to improve the participation of women in decision making. We utilize our network of outstanding emerging leaders to provide a loud voice on issues that affect women. Prominent professionals, alumni, and current fellows are invited to conduct research on African women’s leadership issues in order to develop a broad base of knowledge about African women’s leadership. The research and advocacy program consider different leadership styles and perspectives throughout Africa and tracks emerging socio-political challenges and opportunities for African women. We examine the impact of emerging socio-political issues around the world in relation to gender and examine the current state of women’s rights in Africa. We also explore transformational leadership to attain Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in Africa. Our Research shape our advocacy strategies and are crucial fact-finding points for our advocacy efforts and action.
Our research findings are widely disseminated using press releases, email, our website, https://www.moremiinitiative.org, newsletters, social media accounts, and through fellows and partner organizations.
